Farmers Market helps raise over $1000 towards our new fire truck

Shoppers at yesterdays monthly Farmers Market have collectively helped to raise over $1000 towards our current fundraising effort to purchase a new fire truck. The Riddells Creek Farmers Market committee generously dedicated this months market to the fire brigade once they learned of our current initiative.

Committee members Lisa Moor, Amanda Johnson and Meagan Upsher were the driving force behind the idea and together they helped to advertise the market, organise raffle prizes and collect the proceeds from stallholders.

Lisa, Amanda and Meagan (pictured below) met with Captain Dave Thompson this morning to officially hand over the proceeds from yesterdays market.

All of us at the Riddells Creek Fire Brigade are extremely grateful for the lengths that the Farmers Market went to in order to raise awareness about our truck campaign. Our gratitude also extends to those who bought a raffle ticket or made a donation on the day.

Yesterdays market also saw a guest appearance from “Beeper”, the Smoke Alarm, who took the chance to remind shoppers to change their smoke alarm battery at the end of daylight savings this year.
