Fire Restrictions in Force

New fire truck to be handed over at Farmers Market ceremony

New fire truck to be handed over at Farmers Market ceremony

The new addition to the fleet of Riddells Creek fire trucks will be unveiled and handed over at a special ceremony at the Riddells Creek Farmers Market on Saturday 16th August. The market will run from 9am to 1pm and the handover ceremony will occur at 11am.

After many years of fundraising, the Riddells Creek fire brigade recently purchased the new fire truck to help protect the local area from bushfire, grass fires and a range of emergencies. With a price tag of almost $360,000, the fundraising effort was certainly a lengthy one and we’ve got the entire Riddells Creek community to thank for their support.

Not long after the township was threatened by a grassfire in February this year, the Riddells Creek Farmers Market lead the charge to help the brigade raise the last reaming funds. What happened next was totally  unprecedented with in excess of $30,000 raised.

For this reason, we’re excited to be able to showcase the new fire truck at the Farmers Market next weekend while taking the chance to say thank you to the wonderful Riddells Creek community for enabling the new fire truck to be purchased.
