Fire Restrictions in Force

End of an era for a Captain who has served us very well

End of an era for a Captain who has served us very well

As we begin the new financial year today, we also farewell Dave Thompson who has chosen to stand down from the role of brigade Captain.

Dave performed the role of Captain for the 8 year period between 2000 to 2008 and again for the 4 years between 2012 to 2016. 100% of the men and women who make up the Riddells Creek Fire Brigade are volunteers. Despite the additional duties, responsibilities and time commitments placed on our volunteer Officers and leadership team members, Dave generously devoted many countless hours to the brigade and to the Riddells Creek community under his role as Captain.

The last four years have been a very busy and trying time for the brigade following key events such as the 2014 Dalrymple Road grass fire that burnt to the edge of the township and the robbery of the fire station in the same year, resulting in more than $100,000 of equipment stolen or damaged.

We take this opportunity to thank Dave for serving the community so well over the last 4 years.
